Research
There is a plethora of factors, most of which people are not aware of, that play a major role in (over)eating behavior. The influence of such factors is often much greater than people realize. For example, the size of package, the shape of the plate, watching TV, socializing, and lighting (whether bright or dim) all influence the amount of food that people eat. In my research I examine what the psychological and behavioral consequences of unconsciously motivated eating behavior are.
Education
I have received my BSc degree in both Social and Clinical Psychology in 2009 from Utrecht University. Currently I am enrolled in the second year of the Social and Health Psychology research master program at Utrecht University. In September 2010 I started my internship and master thesis research under the supervision of Dr. Marieke Adriaanse and Prof. Dr. Denise de Ridder.
