Anne Leopold
Education
I received my BA in Psychology in 2007 from Smith College (USA) and then worked as a research associate in two different institutes that focus on studying the brain mechanisms involved in specific cognitive and affective operations. Since 2010, I have been enrolled in the Social and Health Psychology research master program at Utrecht University. In this second year, I am conducting my internship and thesis research under the supervision of dr. Catharine Evers and prof. dr. Denise de Ridder.
Research
I am primarily interested in affective processes and how they contribute to or impede our daily functioning. This year, I am focusing specifically on how the automatic regulation of emotions may influence how people react to health messages that evoke fear in order to motivate people to change unhealthy behaviors.
